The Nautical Archaeology Society currently administers three awards, the Joan Du Plat Taylor Award, the Keith Muckelroy Memorial Award and the Adopt a Wreck Award. The International Journal of Nautical Archaeology - in partnership with the Honor Frost Foundation - administers the IJNA/HFF Open Access Award, which is new for 2016.
These awards are a way of both recognising and financially supporting work in nautical archaeology around the globe, whether being undertaken by world leading organisations, by archaeology students at university, or by recreational diving clubs interested in learning more about a wreck that they love to dive on. The IJNA/HFF Open Access Award provides the winning IJNA article with a year of free open access on the Wiley Online Book Store. This means that those who do not have a subscription to the IJNA will be able to access and download the winning article for free.
Each award has its own independant judging panel made up of NAS members or supporters and is completely impartial. For more details on each of the awards please follow the links.
